Celtic Heart Proud to Welcome Max MacDonald to Blog Team
Music is a huge part of Cape Breton's Celtic culture and much of our history is shared through song. The Celtic Heart of North America wants to share our music and history and is pleased to welcome Max MacDonald to the blog team.
Max has performed on radio, television, film and toured as an actor and musician since 1972. He was a founding member of the music and comedy shows, The Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island and The Cape Breton Summertime Revue as well as a performer in a number of Neptune Theatre productions. Max was also a founding member, recorded and toured with the East Coast band, Buddy and the Boys as well as recording comedy and vocals on 20 other albums. Max stopped performing in 1994 and began to work behind the scenes.
In 1997, he co-founded the Celtic Colours International Festival and worked there for the next 12 years. Feeling the need to sing again, he released, Songs of Home in 2008, the first CD under his own name. It is a collection of material written by the usual suspects of Cape Breton songwriters who also contribute support vocals on there.
Max will contribute regularly to the Celtic Heart blog and will share his vast knowledge and love of Cape Breton and Celtic music. Welcome, Max!
