An increasing number of folks would also think of Cape Breton because of our living Gaelic culture.

It would surprise some people that the areas of north western Spain, Galicia and Asturias, are also widely recognized as Celtic nations. Both of these regions also have a very active bagpipe tradition. (Their version of the instrument is called the gaita.)

https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/cape-breton-cuba-bagpipes#comments bagpipes Cape Breton Celtic Colours International Festival celtic music Cuba culture Ireland Scotland Spanish Thu, 07 Jun 2012 19:25:45 +0000 Max MacDonald 879 at https://www.celticheart.ca Sgeul Éibhinn / A Funny Story https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/sgeul-éibhinn-funny-story
Sgeul Éibhinn

https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/sgeul-éibhinn-funny-story#comments aithris bear bheinn bothan Cape Breton Ceap Breatainn Chladach a Tuath culture dhachaigh dual dualchas. The music scene on Cape Breton Island now operates with what I look upon as a very fresh, up and coming, group of young (very talented) musicians. They are good people too. The encouraging fact is that a number of this younger generation of contributors, are for the most part, very respectful of a beautiful Gaelic culture. As a matter of fact, some of these “kids” are even fluent Gaelic speakers. It is a healthy scene.

https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/younger-generation#comments Angus MacKenzie Calum MacKenzie Cape Breton Celtic Colours Festival culture Dance fiddle Gaelic guitar Kenneth MacKenzie Mabou Mabou Coal Mines march Maureen MacKenzie piano piper younger generation Thu, 16 Dec 2010 01:22:31 +0000 521 at https://www.celticheart.ca Mouth Rhythms https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/mouth-rhythms
“Gaelic Mouth Music”.
