I guess this is understandable if you've never looked behind the scenes at a music festival. All most people see is a public explosion of activity for a short period of time. In fact, the cycle of fundraising, planning, promotion, production and reporting on the results of a major festival goes on year round.

https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/taste-celtic-colours-0#comments A Taste of Celtic Colours Cape Breton music Celtic Colours International Festival Celtic Connections celtic music festival Cyril MacPhee Fáilte Ireland Glasgow Kinberley Fraser Mary Jane Lamond Scotland Temple Bar TradFest The Gathering Wendy MacIsaac Mon, 21 Jan 2013 14:14:25 +0000 Max MacDonald 986 at https://www.celticheart.ca It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/its-most-wonderful-time-year

https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/its-most-wonderful-time-year#comments Cape Breton Celtic Colours International Festival Festival Club Natalie MacMaster Sat, 06 Oct 2012 00:11:43 +0000 Jody MacArthur 979 at https://www.celticheart.ca Our Cape Breton Buddy https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/our-cape-breton-buddy
In my last blog I told you about the Celtic Colours Festival Club. While you never know exactly what might happen on any given night at the Club, there has been one constant every night since the beginning in 1997. That constant is also the glue that holds the club together, host T.R. I was in Baddeck yesterday and Port Hawkesbury two days before that and the trees are starting to show off their brilliant hues. But don't worry, there is still a lot to do here on Cape Breton Island.

https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/cape-breton-101#comments Canso Causeway Cape Breton ceilidh Celtic Colours International Festival Celtic Music Interpretive Centre Ciad Mile Failte Gaelic Gaelic College one hundred thousand welcomes Thu, 20 Sep 2012 14:10:33 +0000 Jody MacArthur 956 at https://www.celticheart.ca The Ace of Clubs… a Celtic Colours Solution https://www.celticheart.ca/blog/ace-clubs…-celtic-colours-solution
My Father used to use the term, “A Pig In a Poke” to warn me to always carefully examine something before I bought it to be sure of its value. An example would be taking a used car for a test drive before buying it. Sage advice from my Dad.

How then, does this explain people lining up to pay $20 to attend an entertainment event where they don’t even know who is going to perform that night? An increasing number of folks would also think of Cape Breton because of our living Gaelic culture.

It would surprise some people that the areas of north western Spain, Galicia and Asturias, are also widely recognized as Celtic nations. Both of these regions also have a very active bagpipe tradition.
