Music Camp on the Canal 2017

Music Camp on the Canal begins Friday evening with a reception and jam session, where participants and faculty get to know each other musically.

There are 5 concurrent workshop time slots (each 1.25 hrs) on Saturday (4) and Sunday (1).

Over 50 workshops are available on a variety of string instruments (fiddles, guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, ukulele, bass….); keyboards, harmonica and more; step and highland dance; voice and percussion; composition and theory.

The program includes an All Star Concert on Saturday night featuring our faculty performers; 3 gourmet meals at the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn; on-site luthier for tunings, minor repairs and instrument assessments; an artisans show and sale, and a used instrument swap and sale.

In short, this weekend will put a smile on any traditional music enthusiast’s face.
