It’s that time of year again. The time when Cape Breton shows off its most magnificent Fall colours and welcome visitors from near and far to the annual Celtic Colours International Festival! If you are one of the lucky ones who will be in Cape Breton for the Festival, we are thrilled that you decided to share this annual celebration with us. Whether this is your first time or a return visit, we want to make sure this is your best Celtic Colours experience yet.
The 17th edition of the Festival explores Cape Breton’s links with artists from Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. Celtic Colours is all about community and has developed a program that showcases the best of what our communities have to offer, you, our guests. From concerts to community meals to learning experiences and cultural events, there is something to fill every moment of your time here on beautiful Cape Breton Island.
Don’t forget about Festival Club, a favourite for many Festival goers. Located at the Gaelic College in St. Ann's, the licensed Festival Club (19 years and older) opens as the evening concerts are closing, offering an opportunity for artists to showcase in a more informal setting, as well as get a session in with friends and colleagues from near and far. It also serves as a spot to wind down at the end of the day. Performance is by invitation only and depends upon artist availability on any given night. Tickets are half price for those holding a ticket stub from a Celtic Colours performance that day (the exception being the opening night at $10).
As a service to guests staying in the Baddeck area, Celtic Colours offers ahome safe shuttle service. Operating each night of the festival between the Festival Club at the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s and Baddeck, this shuttle allows festival goers the chance to enjoy our famous Cape Breton hospitality and not worry about driving home in the early morning hours. The shuttle will begin nightly starting at 10:20 pm from Baddeck and finishing its last trip leaving the College at 3:30 am sharp. You can find more information at www.celtic-colours.com.
If you won’t be joining us this year for the Festival, we hope you will consider a trip next year. It’s truly an experience you’ll never forget.
